With the help of Applied CAx, we have been able to further embed Siemens products into our workflows – in turn making our processes more efficient and effective from design and analysis through to manufacturing.

AeroTEC is continuing to accelerate the evolution of aerospace through further reinforcement and integration of our engineering toolbox. With the help of Applied CAx, we have been able to further embed Siemens products into our workflows – in turn making our processes more efficient and effective from design and analysis through to manufacturing.
As new technology comes to market, it can bring unique and novel problems to solve. This requires a far more integrated system that can thread design data together throughout the development process. Siemens’ set of tools were selected as the optimal solution for our unique challenges, and with extensive help from Applied CAx, AeroTEC was able to successfully deploy those tools to drive real-world cost and time savings in our product development cycle.
We utilize the Siemens cutting edge tools to simulate, model, analyze and manufacture. Because of this, we are now building a digital thread of our metadata throughout the process which removes redundancy and repetition, reduces potential for error, and highlights if design evolution does not respect requirement intent. This allowed AeroTEC to standardize engineering processes, policies and templates. It also provides simpler management of ITAR compliance and control of user access to different types of data, as well as useful data and metrics regarding design progression and schedule integration. We have also implemented new change management workflows to ensure change is properly identified and managed throughout the process.
We have also converged around a single CAD system where appropriate, driving additional efficiencies. Applied CAx have been a committed partner in helping AeroTEC assess, develop and deploy these new tools and systems, bringing their expertise to bear on complex problems and enabling a very smooth transition, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them as we further leverage the benefits of the technologies we are implementing.

Applied CAx helped us moved from a file and folder-based system to a PLM system. They bring a lot of experience and support. From finding the true nature of the problem we are trying to fix to helping brainstorm and map out our workflows to integrate the Siemens tools.
